The origin of Guangdong Chenggong Law Firm (hereinafter referred to as "Chenggong Firm") can be traced back to October 1, 1983, when the Shenzhen Foreign Economic Law Firm was established, one of the earliest professional law firms handling foreign-related matters in China. In February 1994, lawyer Gan Yongming and two lawyers from the original Shenzhen Foreign Economic Law Firm jointly founded Shenzhen Chenggong Law Firm. In the same year, with the restructuring of the initial batch of state-run law firms in China, Shenzhen Foreign Economic Law Firm was renamed Shenzhen Hengtong Law Firm. In 2000, following unified requirements from the Ministry of Justice, Shenzhen Hengtong Law Firm was renamed Guangdong Hengtong Cheng Law Firm, and Shenzhen Chenggong Law Firm was renamed Guangdong Chenggong Law Firm. In October 2014, Guangdong Chenggong Law Firm deepened its strategy for scaled development and absorbed Guangdong Hengtong Cheng Law Firm, marking a new achievement in the firm's scale expansion. In early 2021, the firm transformed from an ordinary partnership to a special ordinary partnership. Chenggong Firm adheres to the development path of "professionalization, scaling, branding, and standardization." From beginning to end, Chenggong Firm upholds the principle of putting clients first, aiming to meet client needs, continuously innovating and optimizing service models, and providing clients with high-quality, efficient, and professional legal services. Chenggong Firm regards "Integrity as the foundation, fairness as the principle" as its professional philosophy. Chenggong Firm has over 200 lawyers proficient in Chinese domestic law, Hong Kong law, and English common law, organized into 17 specialized legal teams, capable of providing high-quality and efficient legal services in Chinese (including Cantonese and Mandarin), English, and Japanese for both domestic and international clients.
